Kissing: Thoroughly Modern Millie Style

Director's Notes:
After first kiss:  "You can't kiss her like your mother."

After second kiss:  "That's a start; we can work with that."

Next day, to other kissing couple:  "You need to kiss like them."

Next day:  "Andrew, that kiss is too aggressive."

Two performances down!  The play is fabulous!  Well cast, colorful, funny, and just extremely well done by all.  Very proud of our boy and all his great friends!

If you want a glimpse, first night photos are available by way of Andrew's facebook page.  There is a link to a Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr. page on his wall.  One of the play dads posted about 200 photos.

Thoroughly Modern Millie

I just noticed that I have basically nothing listed on my Coming Events!  Could that be because I've been so consumed with THIS coming attraction that I haven't even thought beyond it?  I've sneaked a few peaks during dress rehearsals, and am excited to see Andrew as Jimmy, starting this Thursday!

Photo: Looking for a fun date idea? Come enjoy the play - you won't be disappointed.

On the Way to Atlanta

With a baby poised to be born at any moment, an invitation to attend her birth, and two stand-by tickets, I'm on my way to Atlanta.  Today I made it as far as Salt Lake, before I had to turn back.

But my luggage arrived in Atlanta just ten minutes ago.

I'm back in Springville, laundering today's clothes so I can wear them again tomorrow because the rest of my summery clothes are in Georgia, checking things out ahead of me.  I trust that they're enjoying some southern hospitality while they wait for me.

So I'll be on the way again--tomorrow!   (Uglier--since my curling iron and mascara are hanging out with my pants and shirts.  At least I found an extra toothbrush hanging around!  I think an essentials kit should be offered to everyone who is separated from her luggage.)  Anyway the helpful guy on the phone said the best way for me to get to Atlanta is going to be through Las Vegas.  MapQuest disagrees.  Still, Mr. Helpful said that flight is "wide-open" so it looks like Andrew and I will be pausing in Vegas for a couple of hours, on our way to Atlanta.

Tomorrow.

(I've been trying to remember the exact wording of the helpful person who yesterday suggested today's best option.  And I'm hoping that tomorrow's flight will be more "wide-open" than today's was.)

Congratulations to the graduates!

It's been about a month, but we had a great couple of days celebrating our most recent (and not so recent) BYU graduates!  The sprint to graduation was challenging, and we're proud of each of them for pushing through against the odds!  Julie finished her bachelor's in elementary education and Eric completed his master's degree in civil engineering.  As we celebrated their day, we also thought about Danny, who finished his B.S. in Aviation Administration long distance from UVU just a week later.  Amy chose not to walk a few years ago when she graduated in psychology, but decided to borrow Julie's gown and go for the picture!  Better late than never!  We're so proud of all our kids and the wonderful things they're doing!
